A quick recap. Wednesday's trip to shoot with Disney was great! I was cast as a young mom and got to ride some fun rides with my new faux family, complete with Grandparents, a 4 year old daughter and a husband. The shoot was basically a stock shoot for Disney and its travel affiliates to use in brochures and promotional materials. I just heard from the Diamond Agency, my agent in Orlando, and I'm booked for a print ad with Disney tomorrow!  I don't know a lot of the details but its my first job with Disney so I'm very excited to finally work with them. I pray this leads to more future opportunities with them. For those of you who haven't heard yet, I am expecting! I'm in week 10 of my first trimester and things are going great:) I'm over the morning sickness, it was quite brief for me thank God. Like many women in entertainment, I had a few concerns about how my new condition was going to effect my future work in the industry. You will remember about a month ago I worked with Wrapsol Protection System. A really great product. It's a protective film you place on your macbook, iphone, gaming device, etc. I was hired to walk through the application device for new users. Even if you have an agent, and especially if you don't, its very important to be your own marketing pro! This means, having a website (i.e. www.theamywest.com or www.thetarathomas.com ), a facebook, and or a myspace account, blogging, twittering (i.e. theamywest, and strut365), etc, etc.... And the obvious portfolio, headshots, comp cards, and now everyone also carries a business cards in addition to their comp cards.

Friday night was the celebration of Wedding Event and Style magazine's first issue! As you know I had the honor of gracing the cover. So it was my great pleasure to attend the party with my family.
